Job Description

Our client, a $50 million manufacturer specializing in luxury household equipment with a complex multi-entity structure, is seeking to expand their team due to recent growth. They are looking for a Senior Staff Accountant whose primary focus will be on general ledger tasks. This role offers the chance to develop and implement new accounting policies and procedures. Additionally, the successful candidate will assist in crafting the annual budget and will report directly to the Controller.

Responsibilities

• The requirements listed below are representative of the essential duties and responsibilities required.
• Support the month-end close process, including the preparation and posting of journal entries.
• Prepare and analyze monthly balance sheet account reconciliations, including complex customer accounts, consolidating data from multiple systems (e.g., SAP S/4 HANA, customer portals, and billing systems) to ensure accuracy and alignment with the general ledger.
• Assist the Financial Controller in managing external audits, including preparing schedules and providing necessary documentation to ensure successful and timely audit results.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting-related issues and drive continuous improvements.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of desk procedures to enhance operational efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls, identifying opportunities for process improvements.
• Support the Financial Controller in multi-state sales tax compliance and reporting.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required. CPA highly preferred.
• 5+ years of general ledger accounting experience with increasing levels of responsibility, preferably in a corporate setting.
• Experience with SAP S/4 HANA preferred; familiarity with other large ERP systems is a plus.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and internal controls
